Why do people spend so much time, effort, and money to make their faces look good? Why do other people hide their faces altogether? What do doctors have to do with it?
Take a look at this article, and figure out whether you see yourself in there.
This article gives insight on how we allow our physical image to dictate our lives. For a feature we have never seen in our life, we pay great attention to it.
Yes I know, our face is our identity and somewhat makes us unique. But why do we allow that specific feature on our body to dictate our movements? Why not our arms, chest, back or even knees?
Listen, I’ve got some minor scrapes and bruises on my knees and some pimples on my chest. I’ve known others with worse scars in those areas, but why are we normal about it and are obsessed with the way our face looks?
Well, it can be self-esteem related issues. Our perception of ourself is based on the opinions of others. Don’t say I’m wrong and you have high self-esteem and what people say doesn’t matter, because I can tell you, from birth till now if you weren’t told you were pretty or ugly, nice or bad, smart or stupid you would be leaving home in an eggshell or toilet paper scraps with your head high.
Anyways, as I was saying, this may be a matter of self-esteem, so before we decide to fix, adjust or hide any face related issues, we must ask ourselves why. Why am I doing this? What will happen if I don’t do this? What will happen if I do? Is it really necessary? Is doing this affecting other people’s lives? Does it make me happy?
These are some really nice self introspective questions, and I am going to ask my self this some more whenever I feel like “fixing” or “hiding” something.
